I felt the same way when I did a practice CCNA test. (Networking cert)

I don't want to screw it up. Not because I'm worried about getting into business school, but because the test costs $250 and I really don't want to get stuck taking it twice

Oh, I understand. The CCNA test is the same price.

Yeah, you should probably familiarize yourself

Do MBA programs only need a GMAT or do they also need GREs?

In my defense there is no talk of MBA programs after just freshman year.

Wichita State only takes GMAT, and that's the only school I'm applying to. Not sure about others. I took the GRE 3ish years ago and I remember nothing about it. I don't even remember how I scored

I hated the GMAT. $250 to see how well you can take a test.

I wasn't worried. Now I am worried. Going to try another set of questions tomorrow and hopefully it goes better.

I feel like I don't even realize how long it's been since I've had a test taking mindset...it was eye opening

I was talking about the starship - killed by a clapped out old Bird of Prey - but Data, too. Both deaths sucked major Jefferies tubes.

Don't do what I did. I bought the book, said, "Self, you're going to study this book, and take these tests, and kick the hell out of that test." Then I neglected the book, scheduled the test on a whim...and still got into the program I wanted.

OK, maybe do what I did.

That's probably what's going to happen. From what I've heard the school I'm going to go to is pretty lenient on the GMAT anyway.

My masters is in HR and Industrial Relations, but I've got a business undergrad. The program I went to (dbag moment coming up...) is one of the top ranked Labor and Employment Relations programs in the country. However, the vast majority of the applicants and students in the program have psych backgrounds and a lot of those took the GRE (since the program is attractive to those types, they accept both exams). Little did I know, my business undergraduate degree from the same university (Illinois) would actually speak volumes, and make the application process a wee bit easier.

I'm an engineer at one of the (if not the) largest employers in the city (hell, state for that matter). I also had a pretty darn good GPA in college and my references will write me excellent recommendation letters, so I'm not worried.

I had a professor actually refuse to write me a good letter of rec. Guy was kind of an ass.

Do you actually work in aviation, or is that just a hobby? I can only wager a guess as to who you work for that's a big employer in Kansas....

I'm in aviation. It's not really a big secret that I work at Cessna (Textron Aviation now), but I don't flat out state it all that often. Hell, I've used the fact that I work at an aviation OEM to give myself credibility in arguments, there's only so many to chose from especially if you narrow it down to companies in Kansas.

According to google I was almost correct, Textron Aviation is the 3rd largest employer in Kansas behind Spirit Aerosystems and Sprint.

That's kind of what I figured...all that random knowledge occasionally comes in handy. I don't kno wthat I've ever paid attention to the aviation OEM info...or I've just not seen them. Either or.
